Welcome to Moulin de Vigne!
We hope you’ll enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay in our holiday home, nestled in the beautiful Dordogne region. To make sure everything runs smoothly and pleasantly for everyone, we kindly ask you to respect the following house rules. Clear agreements make for happy guests. By making a booking, you automatically agree to these house rules.
Arrival & Departure
Check-in: from 4:00 p.m.
Check-out: no later than 10:00 a.m.
General Rules
- Pets are not allowed in the house.
- Do not flush tampons, sanitary pads, diapers, wipes, food waste, fats or harsh cleaning agents (like bleach or chlorine) down the toilet or any drains. Our house is not connected to a sewage system, and this can cause serious blockages.
- Parties and events are not allowed in or around the house.
- Do not use wet wood in the fireplace – it can cause chimney fires.
- A maximum of 8 people may stay in the house. It is not allowed to have extra guests overnight, either inside the house or in the garden. The minimum age to rent the house is 21. Of course, children accompanied by their parents are more than welcome. Please send us a list of all guests in advance.
- Please don’t move any furniture, beds or tables. If we have to reposition things, extra charges may apply. Indoor furniture must stay inside. There is plenty of outdoor furniture available.
- Please do not open any locked rooms or cupboards – these are for private use.
- We kindly ask you to respect the peace and quiet after 10:00 p.m. This helps keep the area a calm and beautiful place for everyone.
- Please respect the garden – don’t pick flowers or plants and do not start any fires.
- In the evening, please bring the garden furniture cushions inside.
- Treat the house and garden with care. We’ve decorated it with love and attention, and we want every guest to enjoy a pleasant and clean home. Any unexpected damage? Let us know so we can fix it before the next guests arrive.
- Free Wi-Fi is available. You’ll receive the access code after booking.
Cleanliness & Cleaning
- You don’t need to do the final cleaning, but we kindly ask you to leave the house tidy. Put everything back in its original place.
- Hang up any wet towels so they can dry properly.
- Before leaving, empty and clean the fridge, freezer, microwave, and oven. Don’t leave any food behind. Set the fridge to 0 and leave the door slightly open.
- Please clean the coffee machine filters before departure.
- Don’t forget to empty the dishwasher and return all clean dishes, pots and pans to their proper place.
- Make sure everything is washed up before you leave.
- Bring the garden cushions back inside.
- Turn off the heating before departure.
- Dishes done, bins emptied, BBQ cleaned? Thank you very much!
- If we have to clean out the fridge, sort waste, empty bins, clean ovens, do dishes or empty the dishwasher, the extra cleaning will be deducted from the deposit.
Smoking, BBQ & Open Fire
- Moulin de Vigne is a non-smoking house. Smoking is only allowed on the front and back terraces. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the bin.
- Open fires are not allowed in the garden.
- The barbecue may be used. Please clean it thoroughly after use. Be careful with hot ashes: only dispose of them in a box or cardboard container once they are completely cooled down, and place them with the general waste. We are not responsible for any damage or fire.
Children & Safety
- Moulin de Vigne is child-friendly, but parents remain responsible for their children at all times.
- The river is within walking distance. The water flows, and the river is always an adventure. So please stay alert at all times.
- The garden offers plenty of space to play, explore and enjoy safely.
Swimming in the River
- Swimming in the river is at your own risk.
- Never swim alone and never leave children unsupervised. The river is not monitored. Always be cautious of the current. Taking a refreshing dip can be wonderful, but be aware: this is not a heated swimming pool.
- Our neighbours kindly allow us and our guests to use their access path to the river. Please respect their privacy and be mindful that they also enjoy this peaceful spot from time to time.
- Do not use soap or shampoo in the river. Let’s keep the water clean together.
Waste, Environment, Energy & Water
- Please sort your waste. Separate bins are provided in the kitchen. Recyclable packaging (plastic, metal and drink cartons) go together. General household waste goes in the large black bin (extra bin bags are available). Separate bins are also provided for glass and cardboard.
- Recyclable packaging and cardboard can be placed in the yellow container at the beginning of the street – this is free of charge.
- The glass container is located a bit further down Rue de Tacot, near the centre, just past the vélorail tracks on the left-hand side. Glass can also be disposed of for free.
- Is the kitchen bin full? Then please place the closed bag in the green container on the terrace.
- If we have to sort or dispose of waste ourselves, additional charges will be deducted from the deposit.
- Please use water and electricity respectfully. Turn off lights and heating when you leave.
- The heating runs on electricity and uses a night-time accumulation system. A manual is provided. Please use the heating properly.
- Normal usage of water and electricity is included in the rental price (basic usage: 75 kWh/week). Extra usage will be charged afterwards at €0.21/kWh.
- Do not charge electric vehicles using the house’s sockets – our electricity system is not suitable for that.
Parking
There is plenty of parking space in front of the house. Please only park there. Be careful with the ditch when driving onto the driveway.
Loss, Damage & Complaints
- The tenant is responsible for any damage or loss of keys, furniture or facilities.
- Please report any accidents or damage as soon as possible.
- If you notice any issues upon arrival, take a photo and send it to us immediately.
- Any damage occurring during your stay must be reported before departure, so we can prepare the house for the next guests.
- Any complaints must be reported immediately (within 24 hours of discovery).
- We cannot be held responsible for any accidents or theft.
